Did the soldier visit Delhi border to meet his protesting farmer father ?

Spread the truth:

A set of photos is viral showing an elderly man with two soldiers going through an emotional moment. It’s claimed as a soldier came rushing to meet his father who is protesting tat the Delhi border as soon as he got his leave approved.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted the photos but deleted later.

She wrote –

Translation: “Just as he got leave approved, the soldier cried when he met his father protesting at Delhi border. For 75 days, his father has been fighting for his existence. And the government of the capitalists dared calling them terrorists, traitors and conspirators. Such opportunist dishonest government should be ashamed”

Truth

The viral message is misleading, the photo is from Ludhiana, not Delhi border.

While checking replies to the tweets we found someone claiming this place to be Ludhiana ISBT.  First we observed the image carefully, checked the names/signboardss/banners in the background and then started looking for images on Google. Well, it didn’t help much so we switched to Google Maps where we actually found the matching image

We found a matching photo clicking on which led us to precise results.

Click for Google Map photos

You can see the same shops etc in both the images, the one which is viral and the one we found in maps

Further we searched on Facebook and found a video reporting the situation of the Ludhiana bus stand during COVID 19 epidemic, July 2020

Many learned their post/tweet to be wrong and tweeted accepting their mistake
