A 34 second clip from an overcrowded hospital ward where a doctor can be heard asking for more staff from hospital authorities has gone viral on twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. Many claimed the hospital to be from Bengaluru, then Pune, then Delhi, lastly Patna.

It is being shared with people asking about its place of origin i.e the hospital or the city. Many twitter accounts have shared the clip claiming that it was from a Bengaluru’s Victoria Hospital.

There were multiple claims about the origin of the clip on twitter. Many on the social media platform claimed that the clip was from Victoria hospital in Bengaluru.

A tweet from the account @RenukaJain claimed that this clip was of a Delhi’s RML  hospital mentioning Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and not Bengaluru got 375 Retweets.

Rumours and speculations started pouring in as according to claims the clip was from RIML hospital Delhi. Later clip started going viral with a caption that it was from AIIMS Patna and not Bengaluru or Delhi.

Political leader Upendra kushwaha of Rashtriya Loksamta Party shared the clip suggesting it was from AIIMS Patna

Truth

The viral clip is from Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna.

Twitter verified account BangaloreMirror shared the clip with statement ” Dr CR Jayanthi, director-cum-dean of the medical institution (Victoria hospital) has stepped forward to clear the misconception stating that the video is from AIIMS Patna.”

A video doing the rounds on social media platforms attributes the location of the below visuals to Victoria Hospital.

The Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, IPS Bhaskar Rao tweeted clarifying that the video was not of Bengaluru and one person spreading this fake news was arrested.

It did not origin from Pune, AIIMS Patna or RIML Delhi either.

It was found out that this clip was originally from Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, Patna.

Dr. Rana Singh (he can be heard saying out his name in the video)  of Mahavir Cancer Sansthan of Patna commented under the above Facebook video and accepted that he was the one who made this video and shared in on social media.

The hospital’s trustee Acharya Kishore Kunal and assistant director Dr Manisha Singh confirmed that the video is from MCS. According to the statement which they gave to India Today.

“महावीर कैंसर संस्थान में दिनांक 15 जुलाई 2020 को काफी भीड़ हो गयी थी, उसके बाद अस्पताल को बन्द कर दिया गया है, उस भीड़ का कारण यह था कि आठ दिनों की बन्दी के बाद कैंसर संस्थान खुला था और एम्स तथा सभी बड़े कैंसर अस्पतालों के लगातार बन्द होने के कारण अचानक मरीजों की भीड़ बढ़ गयी। भीड़ को देखकर वहाँ उपस्थित डाक्टरों ने तुरत ओ0पी0डी0 और नया एडमिशन बन्द कर दिया। अभी नये मरीजों के लिए अस्पताल बन्द है।

अब कैंसर संस्थान में भीड़ न हो, इसके लिए प्रबन्धन द्वारा रजिस्ट्रेशन काउन्टर अस्पताल से हटाकर फुलवारी में ही एम्स वाले मेन रोड पर दो कि0मी0 की दूरी पर अलग नया रजिस्ट्रेशन काउन्टर बनाया जा रहा है। वहाँ संस्थान की अपनी जगह है जहाँ सामाजिक दूरी के नियम का पालन हो सकेगा। जो लोग वहाँ से रजिस्ट्रेशन कार्ड बनवाकर आयेंगे कैंसर संस्थान में उन्हीं को प्रवेश मिल सकेगा। अतः अस्पताल में मरीजों की भीड़ अब नहीं होगी। कैंसर संस्थान नये मरीजों के लिए तभी खुलेगा, जब वहाँ रजिस्ट्रेशन काउन्टर प्रारम्भ हो जायेगा। आशा है कि रजिस्ट्रेशन काउन्टर रविवार तक बन जायेगा, तभी कैंसर संस्थान खुलेगा।
अस्पताल से रजिस्ट्रेशन स्थान के बीच आने-जाने के लिए कैंसर संस्थान द्वारा निःशुल्क अस्पताल बस और एम्बुलेंस की सुविधा रहेगी। प्रतिदिन रजिस्ट्रेशन हर विभाग के लिए सीमित संख्या में होगी।

महावीर कैंसर संस्थान में 600 बेड हैं। यह देश का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा कैंसर संस्थान है और यहाँ गरीब मरीजों की संख्या सबसे अधिक है। यहाँ 18 साल तक के सभी मरीजों का मुफ्त इलाज होता है तथा हर उम्र के सभी मरीजों को तीनों शाम निःशुल्क भोजन दिये जाते हैं।

कोरोना के प्रकोप से इन्कार नहीं किया जा सकता और उसके लिए हर सावधानी बरती जानी चाहिए। किन्तु कैंसर का प्रकोप सबसे घातक होता है और इसके इलाज में विलम्ब होने पर बचने वाला मरीज भी मर जाता है। अतः हम सैकड़ों मरीजों को इलाज के बगैर मरते नहीं देख सकते। मन्दिर में हनुमानजी सबके भगवान् हैं और कैंसर संस्थान में मरीज हमारे लिए भगवान् समान हैं। हनुमानजी की अनन्त कृपा की अनवरत वर्षा सभी रोगियों पर होती रहे ताकि, यह आर्षवाणी – ‘सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः’ चरितार्थ हो।
