Viral image of the COVID-19 isolation wards in Pakistan is old

Translation: “Those who say Pakistan Zindabad, let me show you a photo of a Coronavirus Isolation ward in Pakistan.”

A photo of two people can be seen lying on a cot and saline bottles can be seen hanging on a rope. Claims are being made that this picture is of people in the COVID-19 isolation wards in Pakistan.

The picture has been viral for a month, and people are still sharing it across social media.

Truth

After doing a Google Reverse Image Search of the image, it directed to a Facebook post by a someone named ‘Sajida Ahmad Langah PTI’, she posted the picture on her Facebook on 25 June 2018.

She captioned it as, “یہ سندھ ہے اور یہاں بھٹو زندہ ہے.”; Translation: “This is in Sindh, and here Bhutto is alive.”

We also found a tweet, which was posted by a user named, Vivek Pandey, he posted the image as a reply to some other tweet, captioning it as, “पाकिस्तान कि मल्टी स्पेशियालीटी हॉस्पीटल”; Translation: “Multispeciality hospital of Pakistan”.

The tweet was posted on 24th June 2018.

Even though we could not confirm if the image is from Pakistan or not, the image is two years old and has no relation to Coronavirus or the Corona isolation wards in Pakistan.

Therefore, the claims that the image is of the Corona isolation wards in Pakistan is completely false.
