This is one of the reasons why such stupid things get viral. Just because someone told you so, and sounds interesting, it must be true so let’s share.
A Message is viral claiming Mark Zuckerberg has invented a word BFF which if turns green on typing can prove your Facebook account is secure, and if it doesn’t, your account is hacked.

The Viral message reads – “Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, invented the word BFF . To make sure your account is safe on Facebook, type BFF in a comment.

If it appears green, your account is protected.
If it does not appear in green, change your password immediately because it may be hacked by someone.”

 

You can guess the degree of idiocy easily as the post above had 6300 shares and 2 Lakh comments

 

Truth

BFF stands for Best Friend Forever. It’s as simple as that. It has nothing to do with security etc.

Facebook has created a list of words and abbreviations which are commonly used to emphasize on them, make the stand apart from usual text. So the words become bold, changes color and on clicking on them leads to an animation
