A false video of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is surfacing in the online media.
The video that was uploaded on YouTube has thousands of shivlingams inside the temple and claims to be from the newly renovated Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi. Besides these, the video also shows crystal replicas of the 12 jyotirlingas, and the temple’s stunning interiors. Firstly, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which also known as the Golden Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva was re-developed in February 2021 and not, renovated. It is being re-developed under a prestigious project by the Central Government and is progressing. It is amidst these, that a video claims to be from the renovated Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

These videos on YouTube put by news reporters and vloggers also resemble the Mani Mandir in Varanasi. One of these videos clearly states the location and mentions that the construction was by Dharma Sangha and designed by Planner India.
A tweet by Planner India was also found, where they condemned the fake news and confirmed that the temple in the viral video is the Mani Mandir in Varanasi, which was designed by Planner India.

A video on YouTube that shows the live darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple shows the old idol and the premises of the temple and has no resemblance with the one shown in the viral video.
Therefore, from the claims above it is clear that the temple from the viral video is not the Kashi Vishwanath Temple from Varansi but, Mani Mandir. The Mani Mandir is run by a religious organisation called Shri Dharm Sangh and the pictures and videos in their website clearly portray the lingas and interiors of the temple.
