Claim: In the past 2 days, Bollywood has lost Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, two talented artists. While everyone is mourning their death, fake news has been spread about another treasure of Bollywood cinema. A claim has been going viral on social media platforms stating Naseeruddin Shah’s health has been declining and that he is hospitalised. The claim has been doing round on social media and few news portals have also carried the same.

The message attached reads: “Mumbai- फिल्म अभिनेता नसीरुद्दीन शाह बीमार, नसीरुद्दीन शाह की तबीयत बिगड़ी, नसीरुद्दीन शाह अस्पताल में भर्ती।

Translation: Mumbai- Film actor Naseeruddin Shah is ill, Naseeruddin Shah’s health deteriorates, Naseeruddin Shah is hospitalised.

Truth

 

The claim is false. Naseeruddin Shah has not been hospitalised and is fine. Naseeruddin Shah through his personal account of Facebook posted that he is fine, is home observing lockdown and asked the people not to believe in rumors. Shah’s son and actor, Vivaan Shah through his official twitter handle also assured the public that his father is doing well and offered his prayers to Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor. Various news publications like Hindustan Times, News18, etc. have reported that the claim is false. Actress Ratna Pathak, Shah’s wife told News18 that her husband was absolutely fine.

The claim was false and was just a rumor that caused panic among the public.
