Did Unnao Rape accused ex BJP MLA Sengar get bail? No, victim’s uncle did.
A post related to the accused person of Unnao rape, which happened in June 2017, is viral on social media. According to the viral post the main accused, expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, has been granted bail by High court.
CLAIM
A picture in which ex BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s dummy is on fire with people protesting in background has gone viral on social media along with the claims that the accused has been granted bail. The post has become viral with the following caption-
“#उन्नाव_रेप_कांड चर्चित उन्नाव रेप कांड के दोषी भाजपा विधायक कुलदीप सिंह सेंगर को हाई कोर्ट से मिली जमानत। अब सवाल यह उठता है कि जिस जज ने जमानत दिया है, अगर पीड़िता उसी जज की बेटी होती, तो भी वह जज जमानत दे देता क्या? इस हैवान ने पीड़िता के पूरे खानदान को मार डाला, फिर भी उस जज को तरस नहीं आया जिसने जमानत दे दी। लानत है ऐसे जजों पर। वह जज जज नहीं बल्कि जज के भेष में छुपा हुआ भेड़िया है।”
Translation-
“Accused in the infamous Unnao rape case, BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been granted bail by the High Court. The question is, had the victim been the daughter of the judge who granted bail to Sengar, would he have granted the bail? This monster killed the entire family of the victim, but even this barbarity could not convince the judge to not grant a bail. Shame on such judges. He isn’t a judge but a devil disguised as one.”

The verified account of UttarPradesh.ORG News on twitter also tweeted the same but later removed the tweet.

TRUTH
The claim is false. Kuldeep Singh Sengar has not been granted bail.
SM Hoax Slayer surfed through the net across various news platforms and found no such news. The latest news in relation with the Unnao rape of survivor, is the bail of the victim’s Uncle Mahesh Singh, who was lodged in Tihar jail, New Delhi was granted conditional bail by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on May 22, in a cheating case registered against him at Kotwali police station, Unnao.

Kuldeep Singh Sengar was arrested in April 2018 and last in December 2019 when proven guilty was sentenced life imprisonment and was fined Rs 25 lakhs. Earlier this year in January Kuldeep Sengar filed an appeal to reduce his sentance at Delhi high court which was denied.
There is no news related to bail of Kuldeep Singh Sengar recently in mainstream media, hence the claim is false.
