Did PM Modi call a martyr’s wife after Pulwama attack ?

Spread the truth:

Following the Pulwama terror attack, a video has been in circulation over the social media. Captioned “कभी देखा है ऐसा प्रधानमंत्री जो खुद शहीद की पत्नी को फोन करे, एक बाप की तरह उनके आँसू पोंछने की कोशिश करे, देख कर आँखे नम हो जाएँगी (Translation:Have you ever seen a Prime Minister, who himself calls the martyr’s wife and tries to console her like a father. This video will bring tears to your eyes)” .

The video features a woman on phone, supposedly speaking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It seems that PM Modi is consoling the woman over the phone. The woman is the widow of a martyred jawan.

The video was initially posted on a Facebook page Swadeshi Lehar. The post has over 174k views and 3,451 shares.

It’s Viral on WhatsApp too

TRUTH

Actually, it can’t be called a fake news as no one claimed this is fresh or mentioned Pulwama attack but the timing of it being viral misleads.

The video is genuine and then CM (2013) Mogi ji did console widow of a Martyr. The original video was posted on November 2nd, 2013 on YouTube from Narendra Modi’s official YouTube channel. The woman in the video is actually the wife of Shaheed Munna Srivastava, Priya Srivastava. In October 2013, Munna Srivastava along with four others were killed in a serial blast that reportedly happened before BJP’s Hunkar rally. The Indian Express reported the story and stated that five people were killed and over 70 were injured. Narendra Modi, was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat was supposed to visit Srivastava’s family but owing to bad weather conditions, Modi’s chopper could not land.

“Hausla Rakhna, wahi Aatankwadi ko Jawab Hai!” (Be strong and keep the faith, this is a fitting answer to the terrorists)…this is what Shri Narendra Modi told the wife of Shaheed Munna Srivastava over the telephone. Munna Srivastava was one of the people who lost his life during the cowardly attack during the Hunkaar Rally in Patna on 27th October 2013.

Shri Modi visited Patna on Saturday 2nd November 2013 to meet the families of those who lost their lives during the blast but could not visit the village of Munna Srivastava due to bad weather. He spoke to the late martyr’s wife on the phone.

Munna Srivastava’s wife told Narendra Modi that you need to bless her and her daughter. Speaking in Gujarati she told Narendra Modi, “Tame Mara Dhyaan Rakh Jo. Tame Mara Bapu Cho” (Please take care of us, we revere you). She said she would prepare Dhokla and Thepla for Modi ji when he visits next time.

Narendra Modi assured her she and her daughter will be taken care of in the wake of these hard times. He said that they are all a part of one family and prayed that God give strength in these hard times. He added that he wanted to come but due to weather he could not and that the Party workers will come and meet her. Modi ji also said that the sacrifice of her husband would not go in vain.” Source

The video was also uploaded by ZEE News’ official Youtube channel on the same date captioned “Narendra Modi called on the wife of Patna blast victim from Gopal Ganj, Munna Shrivastav, to offer his condolences. He was unable to visit the village due to bad weather.”
