Video falsely linked to Himalaya Drug Company owner persuading Muslims to acquire jobs

Spread the truth:

A video wherein a man in a black suit is talking in Urdu to its viewers, encouraging Muslims to be represented at every professional level. He started by referring to the demolition of Babri Masjid and persuading the Muslim community to acquire more jobs and opportunities. In the video, he is seen talking about more involvement of the Muslim community in the health department, police force, lawyers, IAS, IT hubs, education. The person started by giving examples of Muslim youth in prison and the drawback of the Babri Masjid case. The man also mentioned the lower population of the Muslim community in India and to change in the pattern of Madrasa. At the end of the video, he is encouraging the people to achieve the target.

The video is massively shared by people on social media with the caption,” *ये मुल्ला हिमालया कम्पनी का मालिक है। जो फेस वाश व ब्यूटी प्रॉडक्ट्स आदि सामान बनाती है। इसकी कम्पनी के उत्पादों का बहिष्कार करें। घुटनों पर आ जायगा। कृपया हर समूह में भेजें और जागरूक करें।..*

Translation: This mullah is the owner of the Himalaya Company. Which makes face wash and beauty products etc. Boycott its company’s products. Will come to his knees. Please send to every group and make aware. “

The video has been circulated with messages advising people against the use of Himalaya products.

TRUTH

The person in the video is not the owner of the Himalaya Drug Company. His name is Naqi Ahmed Nadwi. 

While searching about the person’s name and identity, we used Invid and broke the video into several keyframes. We then used reverse google search images and found a video on youtube. The owner of the channel was named Naqi Ahmed Nadwi. Nadwi made a video of himself clarifying about the viral video in Feb 2021. In the video, he clarified that his viral video was edited by Sudharshan TV and was broadcasted according to their requirement. In the later part of the video, Nadwi played the original video where he mostly used Urdu words. Urdu words were taken in a different context and the video was massively spread. 

After getting to know his name and identity, we even searched for his social media profile on Facebook and LinkedIn. He is not the owner of Himalaya Drug Company.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is an author and an administrator at Maaden, a mining company based out of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Nadwi has been a resident of Saudi Arabia for 15 years and completed his education in India.

Also, the owner of the Himalaya Drug Company is Mohammad Manal who died in 1986.

Himalaya Drug Company also tweeted on its twitter page about the false claim.
