Truth

The viral claim is false. The video came during the protests of CAA, NRC and NPR and the person speaking is not the owner of Himalaya Drug Company.

We found that the person speaking in the video is Bhanu Pratap Singh by conducting a frame-by-frame search. Bhanu Pratap Singh is Delhi based Advocate and a member of the Bharatiya Jan Shakti Party. The person is addressing the crowd to boycott the use of Patanjali products and boycott Reliance Industries. He is encouraging the protestors of CAA, NRC and NPR to continue their protest with caution. Their protest should not harm the pass byers. We found the actual video by searching with the keywords and the news channel ‘Times Express’ mentioned on the top right corner of the video. The actual video is around 12 minutes long. The viral portion of the video starts at 4:39.

The claim made is that the speaker is the owner of Himalayan Drug Company Mohammed Manal is false. Searching on the website of Himalaya, we came to know that the owner M. Manal passed away in 1986. Hence, It is clear that the person is not M. Manal. The company was founded in 1930 by M. Manal.

By keyword search ‘Economic Jehad’, we received an ample number of results of the same video where Bhanu Partap Singh is addressing the crowd. The banners in the video mention ‘Reject CAA, NRC and NPR’.
