Is the Indian Government considering to reduce the Retirement age amidst COVID-19 economic pressure?

An article published by The Sen Times, an Indian English online newspaper recently carried news stating that the Indian government amidst the COVID-19 crisis has reduced retirement age to 50. This move, according the article, is because of the extreme economical pressure the pandemic has put on the country due to which the government is “mulling significant change to retirement age to central government employees”. Truth

The news is not true and no such decisions has been made by the government. The Press Information Bureau confirmed in a tweet that the government has made no such movie in light of the pandemic. Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office also dismissed the article and the existence of this move by  the  government.
