There is no 24-hour lockdown in Telengana from Tuesday following Eid.
Claim: A claim has been going viral on social media that states that a 24- hour lockdown has been announced in the state of Telangana from this Tuesday, following Eid as there has been sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 cases within the country. The claim states that the lockdown will be in action from 26th May, 2020 and this action has been taken since Telangana Chief Minister is worried about the rise in corona cases in India.
Many people have shared the same on Facebook. Some have also attached a link to a website that talks about the same claim.
The same claim was found floating on Twitter as well.

Many accounts attached a link to an article on the claim that is published by a website called “The Hand Writer”. According to the article on this website it claims that Telangana Chief Minister has announced the 24-hour lockdown to maintain sanity immediately after Eid,

The claim is false and was debunked by the the Telangana State Police. The Telangana State Police through their Facebook and Twitter handles posted that the viral claim floating about the 24-hour lock down is fake. They also urged the public not to believe and share such fake news. They added that no such announcements are made and asked the people to support them in the fight against corona by wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing.
