Old video of a delivery man stealing slices from bread packets is viral as “Thook Jehad”
A viral video of a person removing a pin from a packet of bread and then licking it before sealing it again is getting viral on all social media platforms vlaimed as Thook Jehad, spreading Corona Virus by spitting in food.
Claim: The text with the vial video claims that this man is doing thook jihad, like many earlier videos which had been viral in which people are licking or spitting on the edible items.

Truth
The video is from Sep 2019 i.e. before Coronavirus outbreak, from Phillipines. The man in the video is a delivery boy stealing slices of bread from the packet he is about to deliver.
During the course of over investigation, we used several keyframes from the video and on Yandex, we came to know about the actual incident about this viral video. This viral video is from a Philippines news website philnews.ph’s article dated 20th September 2019 which states that a delivery employee of the International Bakery brand Gardenia was tampering its bread products before bringing it to their clients. The guy is secretly separating some pieces of bread away from the packaging. On getting this news report the administration Gardenia issued a statement of apology to all its customers and also urging that all of its products are free from contamination and are safe for the consumption of its consumers. Therefore in our investigation, the claims made about this viral video are incorrect and it has no connection of contaminating it with the coronavirus.

In the video, it can be seen that the employee of Gardenia Philippines is stealing pieces of bread from the pack, which may cause contamination. The delivery man continue to perform his illegal activity although he is in public.
Gardenia Philippines has also released an official statement regarding the product tampering incident. The company expressed its disappointment regarding the incident and currently investigating the matter.
