The following text is viral on different mediums of social media with images of army personnel
“हिमाचल रेजीमेंट को मिली मंजूरी|कांगड़ा में होगा हिमाचल रेजीमेंट का हैडक्वार्टर, 9 कोर के अंडर होगी रेजीमेंट, 20 साल बाद सच होगा सपना|”
Translation: Himachal Regiment got approval. Himachal Regiment will have its headquarters in Kangra, 9 Corps will be under regiment, the dream will come true after 20 years.
Claim: The text claims that finally after 20 years of hard work the Indian Army got approval for the Himachal Regiment. The headquarter of this regiment will be situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and 9 corps will be under this regiment.
During our course of the investigation we used the keyword search and found that the same news text was viral a year ago too.
The official twitter handle of the Indian Army tweeted that this information is fake and there is no news regarding the creation of the Himachal Regiment in the Indian Army.

Later we also found out that various media houses also clarified this news that no such creation of the Himachal Regiment having its headquarters in Kangra is taking place by the Indian Army.
