Old Photos Falsely Connected to Iranian President’s Helicopter Crash
On May 19, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and six others crashed near Jolfa, situated on the border of Azerbaijan. Eight people died in the incident that took place in an unfavorable weather condition and dense fog. The weather also hampered the search and rescue operations, which lasted over 10 hours.
As the news of the incident circulated on social media platforms, certain accounts also shared pictures that, they claimed, were from the crash.
