Deleted a post I shared from a page about a photoshopped image of a lost great CM Jay Lalita. Reason – Few were so emotionally attached, they didn’t read complete story and started abusing me why I made fun of a dead lady. It’s not the abuses which bothers me, but someone’s sentiment got hurt.
People are asking me to delete that post. I wish it to remain as a proof of my mistake. As I’ve tendered my apologies, it nulls that post. Anyone can do photoshop but links can’t be made. Many photoshop posts or tweets but they never can give a link of source, but here if somebody has to say Hoax Slayer was wrong, they will have a proof for sure. What say ?
I apologize again. Sequence of events – 1. On 6th Jan, Someone asked me if the post of The Frustrated Indian was true or not. 2. That post (6th Jan) has 4 photos of burnt victims claiming to be a family of BJP supporters attacked by CPIM supporters. 3. I searched and found two things – a. The news was indeed true but it was reported on 6th Jan by Indian Express and few. b. The images were from a video clip posted by a southern channel Asia Net on 28th Dec, which simply said “4 injured in a Gals cylinder Blast in Palakkad”. I went through the video and there was no images, anything related to politics. 4. Given the difference in dates and absence of poltics in video led me to understand that these two are seperate stories, the clip is a week old from a residential cylinder Blast. 5. I posted stating the same. 6. followed by a post from Indian Express that such violence did happen, one BJP supporter died and family had burns. 7. Many commented my post of image on TFI’s post and they also later said that images were wrong although news is true as I also said. 8. But today I was told that the audio in the asianet clip did mention the same as TFI quoted. Now this was my mistake, I believed in the headlines while I should have checked the Malayalam audio narrative of the clip from someone. Even TFI didn’t check and politely accepted. So yes, the image and news both were true. And I apologize to you all and The Frustrated Indian Glad to be proven wrong, waiting for a day when I’m no more needed at all.
